I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all). Rev 1:8
I have heard people say, “If there is a God, why is there so much evil in the world?” Or “Why do bad things happen to good people?” You see, that’s a wrong question to ask because Gen 1:1 says “in the beginning, God” (pause there).
Allow me to put it this way for you to see. When you see or enter into a dirty building, you don’t straight away say “if there is a builder why is this building dirty?” Why? Because it is not the builder’s fault the building is in a state of a mess (or dirty). The builder didn’t build a dirty building, it is the people occupying the building that made it dirty.
“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day”. Gen 1:31
You see after God created this world, he put an instruction in place that man (Adam) failed to obey and as a result, sin (or bad things) came into the world.
Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—
God is NOT responsible for the evils (or evil-doers) in the world today. He made a “good” world.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
God wants to reconcile all man back to Himself even after our disobedience to Him. The question is, will you obey His voice? Don’t look at the evil in the world and say “if there is a God why is there so much evil?” Don’t use that as an excuse to question His existence and then disobey Him. But instead say, “there is a God who will judge this evil & the evil-doers of this world and I don’t want to experience His wrath, I will obey Him and I will live for Him and Him only”.
God doesn’t do evil, man does. So change your view from “if there is a God why” to “there is a God so why are we so evil?” as thats when the gospel will start to make sense.
