There are times in life that we find ourselves in a place (or mess) we just didn’t expect to be in. Not because we think or even feel we’re better than other people who may have gone through it (or even going through the same thing) but we just don’t think it could happen to us. Sometimes it is not even our fault that we go through the hardships of life; we didn’t even do anything to warrant what has just happened to us (or is happening to us) and everything we do to try and make things better doesn’t work, it sometimes gets worse and we can look at things and say “LIFE IS JUST NOT FAIR!”.
Well, I want to encourage us not to look at the unfairness in life but to look to God because He is the only one that can help us when “life’s just not fair”.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Psalms 121:1-2…Also read Psalms 142:1-7
WHEN “LIFE IS JUST NOT FAIR”
(Gen 39:19-20; Gen 40:23; 1Sam 18:6-9)
And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him. 1 Samuel 18:14
During the times “life is just not fair”, we have the tendency to act the way we feel like (most especially when we feel it is not our fault) so we just do what we want to do because we feel justified to do so. But as God’s children, He wants us to still carry ourselves in a manner that is right at all times and do what is right always (Matthew 5:43-45). Yes I know it is not easy, but God never promised an easy road (Matt 7:13-14) but “No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it”. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (MSG)
You see God is faithful to His word and to everything that He holds dearly to Himself; so no matter what we go through, he is Faithful and He will allow all things to work together for good to those that Love HIM (Romans 8:28).
Many Christians know the stories of Job, Joseph, David, Daniel… the list goes on; they were treated unfairly in life (some by the ones they love…their family members) but they didn’t dwell on the fact that “life is just not fair” they trusted in God and did what was right and God came through for them.
People, we still serve the same God who still abides by the same principles. If He did it for the people of old, He can still do it for us.
“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever”. Amen.
