“IT’S A MESSAGE”: Mistake | by Taiwo

As human beings we don’t like to be wrong or even make mistake and when we do, we immediately want to cover up or even hide the mistake or error from others to see; even from GOD.

This nature of man (I might even say it is a characteristic) has always been in us right from the beginning;

Gen 3:7-8 (TLB) “And as they ate it, suddenly they became aware of their nakedness, and were embarrassed. So they strung fig leaves together to cover themselves around the hips. That evening they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden; and they hid themselves among the trees”.

But you see, there is nothing we can hide from God. God said to Jeremiah “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;” (Jer 1:5); and John 1:3 says; “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made”. Let me put it this way, God knows and sees everything even before we think and do them. The encouragement here is, when we make mistakes, we don’t need to hide it or ourselves from God. God knew we were gonna do it anyway. Let us go to Him, in repentance and He will forgive us;

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.

Making a mistake is not the end of you, but hiding the mistake can bring an end to you or your destiny.

Extra reading:

Ps 139:1-13

1 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know when I sit or stand. When far away you know my every thought. 3 You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am. 4 You know what I am going to say before I even say it. 5 You both precede and follow me and place your hand of blessing on my head.

6 This is too glorious, too wonderful to believe! 7 I can never be lost to your Spirit! I can never get away from my God! 8 If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the place of the dead, you are there. 9 If I ride the morning winds to the farthest oceans, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your strength will support me. 11 If I try to hide in the darkness, the night becomes light around me. 12 For even darkness cannot hide from God; to you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are both alike to you.

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit them together in my mother’s womb.

Have a blessed day.
